Anthropologist to join our team
Central Desert is seeking an Anthropologist to join our Research, Culture and Heritage Team.
We are seeking an Anthropologist to join our Research, Culture and Heritage Team. You will be assisting in the delivery of research and heritage services to Central Desert’s clients by organising, undertaking and reporting on outcomes of field based cultural surveys and other similar activities, assisting in the collection, collation, storage and distribution of our client’s cultural knowledge and information along with undertaking both desktop and field anthropological research and reporting the outcomes of that research.
The role is based in our East Perth Office with travel to remote desert locations as needed.
To be considered for this position, you will have:
1. A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal People.
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
3. Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction.
4. High-level time management and organisational skills.
5. Ability to engage effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
6. A demonstrated commitment to teamwork.
7. A demonstrated ability to coordinate activity, projects and people.
8. A demonstrated commitment to safety in the workplace, including on field-based activity.
9. A valid Australian drivers’ licence (preferably manual).
10. Tertiary qualification in Social Anthropology or similar.

Salary:
$80,835 to $106,965 per annum plus superannuation depending on skills and experience. As a not-for-profit, Central Desert Group offers salary packaging, which can boost your take-home pay by reducing taxable income.
